Saving as PDF HELP!!!!! I need it ;-)

Okay....  So I am sooo frustrated!  I have the version of word & powerpoint that allow me to save as a .pdf {I am working on a Mac}.  However, when my file is converted, the colors of my fonts, clipart, basically everything is not the same.  A lime green becomes an olive green.  I have now purchased TWO acrobat programs to help with this.  Unfortunately, Acrobat Pro does not allow you to use a word or ppt file to create a pdf.  It is not supported in the Mac version.  I honestly do not know what to do.  I want my colors to stay the way I planned them to be.  Has anyone else had this issue?  If so, how did you fix it?  I would appreciate any help.  AND... I will be returning my Acrobat... I was very unhappy with the lack of supported files.

Hoping for a Miracle,

  2. I change my word documents when I'm getting ready to print. How are you changing yours? This way I have a pdf and a docx. file. I have even saved my printshop2 projects to pdf files when I want to share them. (I use a mac)

  3. Thanks for replying. I 'save as' and then select PDF from the file type. Is there another way I could do this so my colors will work?

  4. I'm really surprised that your colors don't stay the same. I select print, and then at the bottom there is a pdf button. I select it and it asks for a name, etc. I just took a screen capture of the print page. I'll email it to you.

  6. Thanks, Pat & Jen. Pat- my print page also has that feature, but the colors are still off when the pdf file comes up. Jen- I use a Mac and it seems that program is only for windows :-(

    1. ok...one last comment on this issue. When you print the doc & pdf, is that when the color is different...or is it when you see it one the screen?

If you get this issue solve, I'd be interested in finding what you did.

  7. When it's in doc format it is fine. When it converts to pdf, the colors are not correct. Pat, can I email you something I create and have you open it. Maybe it's my computer. I would be interested to see if the colors are bright on yours. The colors I am going to email are hot pink, lime green, turquoise, etc. They are similar to the colors on my blog. Do you mind?

  8. Okay, so I think I used to have the same problem until a friendly guy at Staples helped me out! I have a Mac and every time I would send something to Staples for them to print for me, it wouldn't recognize the fonts or colors I was using. (I think you're having the same problem.) What he told me to do is: With your Word document open, instead of going to "Save As" and choosing PDF as your format.. Go to File and choose Print. When the Print screen pops up, in the bottom left corner it will say PDF. Click that it should give you the option of Saving as PDF. When I did that it saved all my fonts as I wanted and all my colors as I wanted! Let me know if that helps!
